Seven days in full.
Every day is listed exactly as it runs β no surprises on the ground.
Your journey begins the moment you land. A Supreme Signature representative meets you before the immigration hall β your bags handled, your car waiting, your first Egyptian evening already beginning. Tonight belongs to you.
Before the gates open and the world arrives, you are already there. Standing before the last surviving wonder of the ancient world as the desert light turns gold. Your private Egyptologist doesn’t give you a tour β he gives you a conversation across 4,500 years. Then the Grand Egyptian Museum: Tutankhamun’s golden throne, his chariots, the treasures sealed with him for eternity. Most visitors leave wishing they had more time. We give you enough.
A short flight south and you cross three thousand years in an hour. Luxor was Thebes β the greatest city in the ancient world at the height of Egypt’s power. Karnak Temple Complex is where that power built its monument: 134 columns each 23 meters tall, constructed by 30 pharaohs over 1,300 years, still standing. Your Egyptologist takes you through rooms most visitors never find. At dusk, Luxor Temple comes alive in golden light β the Avenue of Sphinxes stretching into the evening.
Cross the Nile before the heat rises and the tours arrive. The Valley of the Kings holds sixty-three royal tombs cut into the limestone cliffs β their painted walls as vivid today as the day they were sealed. The Temple of Hatshepsut rises in three colonnaded terraces from the desert floor: built by the woman who ruled Egypt as pharaoh for twenty-two years, then had her name erased from history. The Colossi of Memnon at sunrise. The West Bank before the crowds is one of the great privileges of traveling privately. Note: We visit the West Bank at dawn when the air is crisp, ensuring you climb the tomb entrances comfortably before the midday heat.
β¦ Optional: Hot Air Balloon over the Valley at dawn (+$180/person)
Drive south along the Nile Valley β one of the most beautiful roads in Egypt. Edfu: the best-preserved ancient temple in the country, arrived by horse-drawn carriage through the town as travelers have done for a century. Kom Ombo: a twin temple built for two gods simultaneously, sitting on a dramatic bend of the Nile where the crocodile mummies were found sealed in its walls. Then onward to Aswan β a different Egypt. Calmer, more Nubian, the river scattered with granite islands.
The Temple of Isis at Philae was dismantled stone by stone and rebuilt on higher ground to save it from the rising waters β one of archaeology’s greatest rescue operations. Reached by motorboat, it rises from the reservoir like a dream. The Unfinished Obelisk still lies in the granite quarry where it was abandoned 3,500 years ago β and it tells you more about ancient Egypt than any finished monument could. Then lunch in a Nubian home on Elephantine Island: not a restaurant, not a performance β a family, a meal, a conversation. At sunset, a private felucca on the Nile as the granite islands turn gold.
β¦ Optional: Abu Simbel by Air β 45-min flight each way, before the crowds (+$220/person)
A last Egyptian breakfast. No schedule. No guide today β just the Nile, the light, and whatever you want to do with your final hours. Then a private transfer to the airport. You leave carrying something that doesn’t fit in your luggage.
